A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of DUI last week in Mesa after a car accident, but in this incident police were probably most surprised by the two teenage girls that were in the car with the alleged drunk driver.
According to the Arizona Republic, a Mesa Police Department spokesman did not know of what the man's relationship with the girls was. The two girls, ages 15 and 14, were riding in the car with David Cloonan Lesueur at the time of the accident. The 15-year-old girl had to be transported to the hospital.
David Lesueur, who was the driver, reportedly looked dazed after the accident with bloodshot eyes and a raspy voice. He told officers that he was on anti-anxiety drugs, anti-depressants, and that he had smoked marijuana the previous day. Police also found that the man had been driving with a suspended license.
The Arizona Republic reported that the court documents stated that David Lesueur was arrested on charges of driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence of mood altering drugs with minors in the vehicle. While this is a terrible crime, it happens often. If the man is indicted, he should probably contact a Phoenix DUI attorney so that he can receive the best defense possible for the charges.
If you are charged with a DUI, it is good to know that a Phoenix DUI attorney can sometimes establish a plea bargain so that so that some of the charges can be dropped or so that the defendant can receive a minimal sentence.
